I started this intervention on Sunday night. The hardest part so far has been remembering to collect my trash rather than throwing it away right then. Also, I have realized that the amount of trash that I produce really relates to where and what I eat. It is easy to grab pre-packaged snacks and food because of the convenience. For example, if I but the small individual servings of yogurt for my lunch, that results in more waste then if I bought one large container and transferred a serving to a reusable container. So far most of my waste has been plastic bags from packing my lunch. With a little more effort I could use reusable containers and cut bags out. This intervention has already got me thinking of the simple ways that I can reduce my waste.
